Oblate Morning Prayer, Sunday January 9th With Sr Anne Petit
You are welcome to join Sr Anne Petit in London for our morning prayer. Sr Anne is a member Congregation of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and their convent is in St John’s Wood, London
Today, the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, is an opportunity for all of us to reflect on our own baptism. It is not something that happened a long time ago or a ceremony that produces magical effects. Baptism is the beginning of a life long journey, a process of growing into the body of Christ as its member – baptism is our covenant relationship with God. Like all relationships, this relationship takes work. This week let’s put time and energy in growing closer to God, renewing our faith and commitment.
When all the people were being baptised, Jesus was baptised too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” Luke 3 21-22
Thanks for joining us today.
