Oblate Morning Prayer, Tuesday February 1st Feast of Saint Brigid of Ireland
Friends, we join Kay Curran in Dublin for morning prayer. Kay a member of the Oblate Lourdes Pilgrimage family.
Today is the feast day of St. Brigid of Kildare Ireland, also known as St. Brigid of the Gaels.
But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are, so that no one might boast in the presence of God. – 1 Corinthians 1:26-31
While reflecting on this morning’s scripture, I feel there is a very strong message here from the mouth of God. I think He is asking us to look deep into our own hearts and put ourselves into the shoes of others. By this He means rich and poor, wise or weak. His words are telling us we are all the same in His eyes. He doesn’t mean to shout it from the rooftops when we do something good for others.
Thank you for joining us this morning, and a very hoary feast day of St Brigid to you all!
