The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Friday 16th August 2024 With Susan Varghese in Darndale
Good morning dear friends. We join Susan Varghese from the Oblate Parish of Darndale-Belcamp in Dublin on Friday, 16th August 2024, in the 19th Week of Ordinary Time.
Gospel | Matthew 19:3-12
Husband and wife are no longer two, but one body
Susan reflects: “There was an opposing view which proposed that only the most serious reason justified divorce. The Pharisees wish to force Jesus to take sides, and so make enemies, Jesus resolved the issue by ruling out divorce and placing men and women on the same level. Such an equalization of relationship between the sexes was so revolutionary that it drew an astonished response from his disciples. “
Thank you for joining us this morning.
