The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Monday 24th June 2024 With Kirk Jacob
Today, we invite you to join Kirk Jacob, director of MAMI UK, for our morning prayer once again from Kilburn, London.
Gospel | Luke 1:57-66,80
‘His name is John’
Kirk reflects on today’s gospel reading:
“‘Now I wonder what the good folk in the hill countryside where Zachariah and Elizabeth had lived, what did they make of Little John’s name? His doting parents, no doubt, were filled with joy at the birth of their first child at such an old age. As Scripture tells us, the people shared their joy at the start.
However, their joy turned to astonishment when they came to know of what the name was to be given to that child. Maybe there are times in your life when someone called out your name in a particular way, and you felt your heart raced with joy. On the other hand, you were surprised with astonishment when someone called out your name. “
Enjoy the reflection this morning and thank you for joining us.
