Good morning. We invite you to join our Oblate Family Morning Prayer. We join Fr Dermot Mills OMI in Inchicore for today’s time of prayer on Monday, January 29th 2024.

In today’s gospel we hear the story of Jesus and Demoniac man.
‘Go home to your people and tell them all that the Lord in his mercy has done for you.’

What’s going on here? Jesus is healing this man, this unfortunate man. And so he’s enabling this man to belong to society once again. It’s an act of great mercy and love. However, in doing this, he’s also letting people know that his mercy, that God’s love is for all people, for everyone, not just for a select group, not just for a little group of people, not just for the Jewish people. But God’s love and God’s mercy extends to every human person. And then he’s sending this man to others to tell people what’s happened to him.
