The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Monday 3rd June 2024
Good morning. We join Fr Ilango in Sacred Heart Church, Kilburn, for today’s morning prayer on Monday the 3rd of June
Gospel | Mark 12:1-12 ©
They seized the beloved son, killed him and threw him out of the vineyard
Fr Ilango reflects on today’s gospel reading:
“It is natural for us as landowners, householders in charge of properties for income, we expect timely returns and to keep eye on how things are going. This is similar to the landowner in the gospel. However, in the parable, the tenants, driven by greed, killed the owner’s servants and his only son, when they came to collect what was due to the owner. In the metaphor of the vineyard, God is the owner and enlisted us to produce fruits and share them with him. I am inspired by Mother Teresa who lived with the expectations of her master and shared his compassionate love with not only Christians, but with all the people who are abandoned in the streets. “
Enjoy the reflection this morning and thank you for joining us.
