The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Monday 5th February 2024

Good morning. We invite you to join our Oblate Family Morning Prayer. We join Kathy Barclay in St Mary’s Star of the Sea, Leith in Edinburgh, for today’s time of prayer on Monday, February 5th, 2024.

Today is the fourth day of the novena in honour of Our Lady of Lourdes. The Novena is from the 2nd to – the 11th of February, leading to up to Our Lady’s feast day (11th February).

Kathy reflects: “Like other orthodox male Jews, Jesus would have worn a traditional chiton to the four corners of which tassels were attached. Devoutly touching these richly symbolic reminders of God’s special historical relationship with his people was at the foundation of faith. In the case of those who touch the hem of Jesus’ garment it was also an expression of the hope that empowered by God, he might heal them.”
