Good morning. We join Zoe in Immaculate Heart of Mary, Kilburn, for today’s morning prayer on Saturday the 1st of June

I will not tell you my authority for acting like this

Zoe reflects on today’s gospel reading:
“In the gospel passage, the religious leaders question Jesus’ authority, not because they did not know it, for they knew him to be the Son of God, it was their unwillingness to give up their own authority and submit to the divine authority that had them turn against him. Like the religious leaders of Jesus, time, we know the authority of Jesus and are well aware of his authority, but how often do we let pride get in the way of our faith?
