The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Saturday 21st June 2024 With Mary Tyrrell
Today, we invite you to join Mary Tyrrell for our morning prayer from her home on the Wirral, England on Saturday June 22nd.
Gospel | Matthew 6:24-34
“Do not worry about tomorrow: your holy Father knows your needs”
Mary reflects on today’s gospel reading:
“‘This gospel could have been written for today when we know that mental health is an increasing problem for many people at this moment. There are many different causes and reasons for this upsurge in the problem. I know some of the top causes of worry and anxiety. We all have worries. Sometimes, yes, so overwhelming they affect ourselves and those around us. There is great wisdom in the last part of this gospel. Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow, as today has enough troubles of its own. The message is to live as fully in the present moment as we possibly can.”
Enjoy the reflection this morning and thank you for joining us.
