The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Sunday 16th February 2025 With Pauline Thomas on Anglesey

Good morning, dear friends. Welcome to today’s morning prayer on Sunday, 16th February, the sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Our prayer is brought to us by Pauline Thomas from Holyhead on the Isle of Anglesey, Wales.
Gospel | Luke 6:17,20-26
‘Blessed are you who are poor, who are hungry, who weep’
Pauline reflects: “Pope Francis, during the Angelus on the Feast of All Saints in 2021, spoke about the Beatitudes as having two aspects of joy and prophecy. In living this way of life Jesus begins the Beatitudes with the word “blessed” meaning great happiness. This gift we receive as God comes to dwell in our lives. A Christian’s joy then, is not a passing moment of happiness or optimism, but one grounded in the certainty of facing all life situations under God’s loving gaze.”
