The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Sunday 18th August 2024 With Caroline Shevelan
Good morning dear friends. We join Caroline Shevelan from West Cumbria, England on Sunday, 18th August 2024, in the 20th Sunday of Ordinary Time.
Second reading | Ephesians 5:15-20
Be filled not with wine, but with the Spirit
Caroline reflects: “The readings for this Sunday begin by speaking about wisdom, about leaving foolishness behind and learning to live. This passage from Ephesians, the one we’ve just read together, builds on the idea that some things are life-giving and some are not. Thoughtlessness, senselessness, and drunkenness are to be guarded against. And why? To make room for the spirit, for life.”
Thank you for joining us this morning.
