The call of John the Baptist

Joanna reflects: “It’s very interesting that Luke put so much effort in describing the political scenario in which John and then Jesus were embedded. With so many people ruling over so many regions, we can imagine the state of constant conflict that affected those who lived at that time. We too, live in a time of unrest. With so many wars all over the world, some very close to us. In fact, it seems that the world has always been in this state. So we might wonder, where is this Prince of Peace?”
