The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Thursday 16th May 2024 With Fr Paul Horrocks OMI
Good morning friends,
We join Fr Paul Horrocks OMI, an Oblate priest ministering in the Inchicore Pastoral Area. We are presnet at the Oblate Lourdes Grotto for today’s prayer once again this morning.
Gospel | John 17:20-26 ©
Father, may they be completely one
Fr Paul reflects on the words of today’s gospel reading:
“Usually we remember and treasure the last words that those we have been specially close to speak before they die. And these words that we have just heard in the gospel are among the very last words of Jesus. And so likewise we value them. You know, and I find it heartening that at that very moment, Jesus is praying specifically for us. He has prayed for himself as he faces the cross. He has prayed for his specially chosen disciples. And then he takes a leap into the future to pray for us, who all down through the ages and in places all over the world, world will believe what the disciples have taught and said about him.”
Outdoor Mass takes place at the Grotto every Wednesday at 10am during the Month of May in honour of Mary. Please do join us!
Enjoy the reflection this morning and thank you for joining us.
