Good morning friends. We invite you to join Kathy and Kazia for today’s morning prayer on Thursday of the third week of Advent, December 19th. This week, the members of the Parish of St Mary’s, Star of the Sea, Leith, will lead us in our morning reflections.

‘Your wife Elizabeth will bear a son’

Kathy reflects: ‘Both of our readings, the first reading describing the birth of Sampson and their gospel relating to the Nativity of John the Baptist, presents us with couples that were believed to be born to bring forth children against all expectations. And not just any children either. But in the case of Samson, a mighty warrior of peerless strength, and in the case of the Baptist, the greatest of the prophets and the herald of Jesus.’
