The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Thursday 19th September 2024 With Martina and Jason
Today, we join Martina and Jason, members of the Lourdes Hospitalité and part of the group of Kairos Community Trust who come to Lourdes every year to accompany the assisted pilgrimage.
Gospel | St Mark – Blind Bartimaeus
“Bartimaeus – the very fact that we know his name, a name that has gone down in history – was such a significant man. Yes, he was blind. He was man who had no other resources and used his voice when the Lord approached. He had that faith, a blind faith, perhaps he knew that this was the Messiah. He knew that this was the Son of David. He screamed out when everyone heckled him and put him down. He leapt up to his feet and he followed Christ with great courage and hope in asking and seeking that help that his prayer to see again would be answered, and that same hope you see everywhere here in Lourdes.”
Thank you for joining us this morning.
