The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Thursday 29th August 2024 With Caroline Shevelan, West Cumbria
Good morning dear friends. We join Caroline Shevelan from West Cumbria, England on Thursday, 29th August 2024, in the 21st Week of Ordinary Time.
Psalm 70(71):1-6,15,17 ©
My lips will tell of your help.
Caroline reflects: “The authorship of Psalm 71 is unknown. However, there does seem to be a general agreement that it is the praise of the person who has made a lifelong commitment to faith, to dependance on God and to perseverance. I also found it described as the prayer of the aged believer. The words make it clear that the author places their trust in God and expects to be answered for their need to be met… God does not promise us a life without difficulty. What God promises is to be with us through all of it. “
Thank you for joining us this morning.
