The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Tuesday 4th June 2024 With Johnny Bosco
Friends, we return to Kilburn once more for morning prayer. We remember especially the soul of Fr Paschal Dillon OMI whose funeral mass takes place tomorrow in Inchicore. Johnny Bosco is a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Oblate parish of West Kilburn.
Gospel Reading: Mark 12:13-17 ©
‘Give back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God’
Johhny reflects on today’s gospel reading:
“Jesus motivates us to take responsibility for honouring God and living our earthly citizenship in honourable ways. As we know, being a Christian does not stop us or prevent us from being good citizens. In the gospel, Jesus invites us to act as responsible citizens by fulfilling our obligations to the civil government and authorities. At the same time as believers we ought to love God by giving ourselves totally to him in response to his love. We become true disciples of Jesus when we fulfill our obligations to his Kingdom precisely by fulfilling our obligations to his earthly kingdom.”
Enjoy the reflection this morning and thank you for joining us.
