Update: IronMan Fundraiser to help send sick children to Lourdes Thank you for your support!
Recently, Críostóir took part in the IronMan Challenge in Cork on June 23rd to raise funds to help send sick children to Lourdes. At the age of 2, Críostóir’s daughter, Muireann, had a heart transplant at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. The following year she travelled to Lourdes with her parents as part of the Oblate pilgrimage.
The IronMan Triathlon is widely regarded to be one of the most challenging and physically demanding single-day sporting events in the world. We are extremely grateful to Criostóir for undertaking this endeavour to help us raise much needed funds.
Lourdes has long been known as a place of encounter, healing and peace. We are so thankful for the generous support of all who contributed which will allow us offer this experience to families who are faced with the challenge of journeying with and supporting a sick child. This financial support helps us continue in our mission and will help us bring sick children and their families to Lourdes in September.
A grand total of €3510 or £3133 was raised through Críostóir’s fundraising initiative. On behalf of Críostóir and the Missionary Oblates, we would like to thank you for your contributions to the IronMan fundraising appeal.
