Friends, we invite you to join Deanna Greene from the island of Jersey for our prayer this morning. Every year, the pilgrims from Jersey travel to Lourdes to participate in the Oblate Pilgrimage and join us in our days here. This morning, Deanna reflects on the gospel of today’s pilgrimage mass, the Mass of Anointing and the Sacrament of the Sick, where a woman reaches out to Jesus in faith, in desperation, for healing.

Deanna shares about how, like the woman in the gospel, the trust and faith displayed by pilgrims here in Lourdes also inspires her, and gives her faith, and how that this faith; a concept that might seem a bit surreal or unobtainable to some, is present in each and every one of us. We pray that we may all come to have the faith and trust of the afflicted woman in today’s gospel and that Jesus may say to us too, “Go, your faith has saved you.”

We especially unite in prayer for all those who will be anointed at this morning’s mass in the Basilica of St Pius X in Lourdes, and we pray for all those watching from home and remember your intentions this morning. You can watch the mass live here:
