“Pray, Fast, Give Alms!” Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family on Ash Wednesday With Sr Anne Donnelly in Crewe
Friends, the season of Lent begins today! Sr Anne Donnelly is a member of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit and is the assistant director of the Oblate Retreat Centre in Crewe. Today she reflects on Ash Wednesday and offers us some guidance on how we could approach our Lenten Journey this year.
We are invited on a journey of conversion and transformation by turning away from sin and turning more towards Jesus. In today’s Gospel we hear about what has become known as the three pillars of Lent – Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving. This Lent, can we ask what we are being called to do this Lent?
Thank you for joining us this morning.
