“Bear good fruit!” – Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family
Good morning friends, we invite you to join with Theresa Codd in Birkenhead, England for morning prayer on this Sunday, February 27th.
Theresa reflects this morning on Saint Joseph of Cupertino’s life. His life bore much fruit despite his unpromising beginning. We can never know what is truly in a person’s heart, only God knows. She also reflects on the important words of the gospel where Jesus speaks of the good fruit can only be born of a sound tree. It can be difficult to discern what is in our own hearts, as we can be blind to both our own faults and our own virtues. We pray that Jesus prune us so we can bear good fruit in our lives.
‘There is no sound tree that produces rotten fruit, nor again a rotten tree that produces sound fruit. For every tree can be told by its own fruit: people do not pick figs from thorns, nor gather grapes from brambles.’ – Luke 6:39-45
Thank you for joining us this morning.
