Death notice of Fr Tom O’Shea OMI Friday March 31st 2023
The Oblate Community regrets to announce the death of Fr Tom O’Shea OMI (Fr Tomás Ó Séaghdha), (Clontarf and Brazil), March 31, 2023, after a short illness borne with fortitude, at St James’ Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by his brother Neasan, and parents Peig and Seamus O’Shea. He will be sadly missed by his sister Aideen, brother-in-law Peter, sister-in-law Kitty, nieces and nephews Fergal, Niamh, Eoin, Muireann and Tom, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, friends, and the Oblate community.
Padre Martin was much loved by the people of São Simão, Brazil, where he served the community for 53 years.
Removal on Tuesday evening (4th April) to the Oratory Chapel in the House of Retreat, Tyrconnell Road, Inchicore, arriving at 5pm. Funeral Mass at 11:30am on Wednesday (5th April) in the Church of Mary Immaculate, (Oblates), Inchicore, followed by burial in the Oblates Community Cemetery.
