Belcamp College suffered a devastating fire last night. Belcamp has been part of the story of our Province since 1893. It held fond memories for so many who were there as pupils or as members of staff.
Shortly before 9pm we were called to a fire in #Belcamp College. Over 20 firefighters attended and a strong wind blew smoke over a wide area. Crews from Kilbarrack, North Strand and HQ initially on scene supported by water tankers & a turntable ladder. No injuries #Dublin #fire pic.twitter.com/YbT51tiw8O

A major blaze at a derelict building in north Dublin has been brought under control.
The fire broke out at Belcamp College in Malahide around 9pm last night.
Around 20 units of Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene and residents living in the area were advised to keep their windows closed due to smoke.
There were no injuries reported.
Belcamp College was designed by Kilkenny-born architect James Hoban, who also designed the White House in Washington, and it also featured an oval room that was gutted in a previous fire.
The house was built in the 1770s with the Oblate fathers founding the Catholic college as a boarding school there in 1893.
