JPIC – Chat with Aisling in the Community Gardens, Inchicore Biodiversity & New Life
Aisling O’Connor is part of the Oblate House of Retreat community in Inchicore. Bringing new life to the gardens and grounds ever since she started working with us, the community very much appreciate Aisling’s commitment and contribution. During the Covid-19 pandemic everyone was restricted in their movements. Right throughout lockdown and restrictions, we appreciated the gardens more than we ever imagined!
Helping to transform the gardens and the grounds into a sacred space for young and old alike, Aisling offers a welcoming presence to everyone visiting the grounds. With a passion for bio-diversity and recycling, her love for her work and for nature, speaks to people. Her latest initiative is the introduction of bees into the campus. Aisling would say she is blessed to be working with us. We know that we are also blessed to have her work with us.

She also shares how the general community both in Inchicore and the Oblate community enjoy and engage with the gardens. While giving us a tour of the gardens, she shows us the various parts of the garden – the wild garden, beehives, wormery, recycling with compost and more. She shares some tips about how you can bring more nature into your own garden and help the environment no matter where you live!
