Morning Prayer, Feast of Christ the King , Sunday November 21st With Tom McCabe OMI
Friends, on the feast of Christ the King and the final Sunday of the church year, please join with Fr Tom McCabe OMI of the Oblate Mission Development Office, for our morning prayer together.
Pilate said, ‘So, then you are a king?’ Jesus answered, ‘You say that I am a king, I was born for this, I came into the world for this, to bear witness to the truth; and everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.’
Pilate knew already that Jesus was innocent of the charges, but he was not going to allow that truth to determine his decision. He may have sincerely wished to save Jesus’ life, but he wasn’t serious about doing the truth; he would do what suited his political ends — he did not ‘belong to the truth’.
Am I serious about doing the truth? Do I belong to the truth and listen to his voice? Questions that are there in the Gospel for each of us to answer…
Many thanks for joining us this morning.
