Morning Prayer for March 10th With Kathy Barclay
Good morning everyone, and welcome to morning prayer with Kathy Barclay, from St. Mary’s Star of the Sea parish, in Leith, Scotland.
Today’s reading is from the account of Saint John. Today is also the Feast of Saint John Ogilvie, and we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Oblate parish of St. John Ogilvie in Edinburgh. Saint John Ogilvie, martyr, was born in 1580, in Scotland. He was educated a Calvinist, but was received into the Catholic Church by Father Cornelius. He became a Jesuit, and was ordained priest in 1613. In Edinburgh and Glasgow, he reconciled many to the ancient faith, but was betrayed, imprisoned and tortured, and finally hanged in Glasgow in 1615.
Thank you for joining us in prayer today.
