Morning Prayer
Morning Prayer for March 31st With Pauline Thomas
Good morning everyone, and welcome to morning prayer with Pauline Thomas, from Anglesey.
Stoning was the penalty for blasphemy back in the day. In today’s reading, Jesus defends himself against the charge that he is making himself a god by quoting Psalm 82, which is interpreted as declaring some mortals to be gods. Jesus’ works are evidence of his relationship with the Father. But signs do not persuade those in Jerusalem. We are invited to be evidence of, or at least clues to, God’s self-giving nearness in the world.
Thank you for joining us in prayer today.
