Morning Prayer, Monday August 17 with Mary Tyrrell
Join with Mary Tyrrell of the Oblate Partners in Mission team for our Morning Prayer today. Mary takes her theme from today’s Gospel (Mt 19:16-22) when, in response to the question from the young man, Jesus answered him: “If you wish to be perfect, go and sell what you own and give it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, and follow me.” However, for this wealthy young man, it was too much to ask and as the Gospel says: “he went away sad.“
Mary challenges us to reflect on what I would find the most difficult thing to give up from my life, if Jesus asked this of me. And so, Mary prays with us that we can see more clearly those things that block us from giving ourselves more fully in the service of Christ.
