Sunday December 26th, Feast of the Holy Family With Mary Tyrrell in Sierra Leone
We join Mary Tyrrell and her son James once more in Sierra Leone at the home of Laughter Africa.
We ask God to bless all families on this feast of the Holy Family. May our homes be a place of welcome to all who cross our front doors. May all our visitors find peace and joy within. We ask God to bless all those families who find this time of year. We also ask God’s blessing on the Holy Family Sisters of Bordeaux who have worked closely with the Oblates over the years.
Today’s reading we hear of the worry of Mary and Joseph when Jesus went missing, and their joy and relief at being reunited with him after three days.
Missing children and people is a huge problem all over the world. Laughter Africa works with children and helps them reunite with their families. We pray for all those who have an empty seat at their Christmas table this year.
Three days later, they found him in the Temple, sitting among the doctors… They were overcome when they saw him, and his mother said to him, ‘My child, why have, you done this to us? See how worried your father and I have been, looking for you.’ Luke 2:41-52
