Morning Prayer: Thursday September 16th With Irene
Good morning friends, we join Irene, a member of the community of Cemaes Bay and Amlwch, on the island of Anglesey, Wales, for our time of prayer and reflection.
In the scripture reading, Jesus is in his home town, where he trained as a carpenter. He returned home to preach, but he was not accepted by the people there. In today’s church the message of Jesus has not changed. Let us strive to be a universal church, one that listens and reaches out to all . We want to reflect the hope that God never abandons his people.
“Coming to his home town, Jesus taught the people in their synagogue in such a way that they were astonished and said, ‘Where did the man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers? This is the carpenter’s son, surely?” – Matthew 13:54-58
Thanks for joining us this morning, we hope you have a great day.
