Morning Prayer: Wednesday September 15th With Olga in London
Good morning, for our prayer today we go to Olga Slater in London.
Today is a very special memorial as we commemorate Our Lady of Sorrows. Jesus is hanging on the cross, looking down on his sorrowful mother. He hands his mother to the care of John, and in turn, John to his mother. This scene is raw, painful, words could not express the depths of sorrow of this scene. Spend some time pondering this sad scene.
“Seeing his mother and the disciple he loved standing near her, Jesus said to his mother, ‘Woman, this is your son.’ Then to the disciple he said, ‘This is your mother.’ And from that moment the disciple made a place for her in his home.” – John 19:25-27
Jesus too gave us to the care of his mother, our heavenly mother. Mary continues to show her son’s love for us and lead us to him.
Sweetest Mary, keep us close!
