Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family, Holy Thursday With Martina Cooley
Dear Friends, on this Holy Thursday morning, and on the first day of our three days of Easter Celebration, we invite you to join Martina Cooley for today’s reflection.
Martina lives in South East London and is a volunteer with Kairos Community Trust. She shares with us this morning her own story of recovery and her faith journey, which began two years ago when she arrived at the doors of Kairos in Peckham.
“God is my saviour. He has certainly saved my life more than I can care to mention.” – Martina
Today in many dioceses, the Mass of Chrism will be celebrated and the holy oils are consecrated which are used in the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Ordination of priests. Why mention this? Because this weekend, during the Easter Saturday vigil Martina will receive the sacrament of confirmation. Thank you Martina for sharing your powerful story so personally with us all this morning!
Kairos Community Trust are dedicated to helping homeless men and women with drug and alcohol problems. They do this through their abstinence-support hostel, rehab programmes and network of 29 supported Move-on houses, most of which are in south London. Learn more here: https://kairoscommunity.org.uk
