Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family, July 29th With Mary Tyrrell, Oblate Partners in Mission
Good morning – today we join Mary Tyrrell of the Oblate Partners in Mission team once more for our morning prayer together. Today is the Feast of Saints Martha, Mary and Lazarus.
Today’s gospel creates a familiar scene – a family gathering together during a time of great sadness. Mary shares a time where she and her family supported and brought joy to one another during a difficult time. Be grateful and appreciate both happy moments and the people who help us through sad times. Martha, Mary and Lazarus were close friends with Jesus. Today think about one person who is there for you, whether they are related to you or not, and let’s nurture those bonds through prayer.
‘Many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to sympathise with them over their brother. When Martha heard that Jesus had come she went to meet him.’ – John 11:19-27
Thank you for joining us in today’s reflection.
