Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family: Saturday November 25th With Veronica Halloran
Good morning friends, and thank you for joining us for prayer. This week, some of the parishioners of St Mary’s Star of the Sea, Leith will lead us in our daily morning reflection and today we join Veronica Halloran in Edinburgh.
Today is the Feast of Saint Catherine of Alexandria. Catherine According to tradition, lived in the fourth century. A young, noble woman schooled in Alexandria, in Egypt, one of the centers of learning in the ancient world. Legend has it that she protested against the persecution of Christians resulting in her being tortured. In the medieval ages, Catherine was counted among the saints that were invoked in time of plague and pestilence.
Through the month of November we remember, in a special way, all who have died. As we pray, eternal rest grant unto them all, Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
Thank you for joining us this morning.
