Morning prayer with the Oblate Family: Sunday June 18th With Fr Dominik
Morning prayer with the Oblate Family: Sunday June 18th
“When Jesus saw the crowds he felt sorry for them because they were harassed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is rich but the labourers are few, so ask the Lord of the harvest to send labourers to his harvest.’ ” – Matthew 9:36-10:8
We would like to invite you all this morning to meditate this Gospel passage together. It begins with the words: “When Jesus saw the crowds he felt sorry for them because they were harassed and dejected.” Let us stand together in the midst of those crowds. Let’s pause our eyes on Jesus’ look. He feels sorry, he is worried looking at those people. He looks also at you and me. He knows all our worries and fears.
Jesus invites us to ask for the shepherds who in his name will look after those abandoned and poor. Do we believe tough that the shepherds in the Church are Jesus’ gift for all of us? Do we ask for new and eager pastors? Do we pray for them? Let’s entrust to Jesus today all the shepherds he put in our lives.
Thanks for joining us in prayer this morning.
