Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family, Sunday October 9th With Ros Appleby
Friends, please join Ros in Birkenhead for today’s prayer. We all like to be thanked for what we do for one another, and we make sure our children say thank you too. We tell them how important it is to recognise the kindness and the service that others do for us. In today’s Gospel, Jesus cures the ten lepers.
When the one Samaritan leper, cured of his disease, throws himself in gratitude at his feet, Jesus’ questions where the other nine went – that in the joy of being cured and the desperation to get back to the life that they knew, they forgot even to say thank you to Jesus Himself and to praise God the Father for the healing transformation. “The other nine, where are they? “It seems that no one has come back to give praise to God except this foreigner.”
Let us pray: God our Father. I receive little kindnesses every day in my life. May I take time to pause at the end of each day, time to praise and to thank you for the many, many blessings I receive from you so often to the goodness of others. They reflect your great love for me, and they flow from the grace you give to us all.
Thank you for joining us this morning.
