Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family: Tuesday August 9th With Fr Frank Ryan OMI

Good morning dear friends! We join Fr Frank once in Wales – in Saint Joseph’s Parish, Colwyn Bay for morning prayer. Today we celebrate the Feast of Theresa Benedicta of the Cross, also known as Edith Stein. She was born into a practising Jewish family, who loved her and supported her as she continued in her higher education, and through her conversion to catholicism and joining the Carmelite Sisters.
On this day 80 years ago she was killed during the second world war with her sister and many, many others in Auschwitz Concentration camp where so many Jewish people were murdered.
Her journey in faith affirmed for us the power of prayer.
Thank you for joining us this morning.
