Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family: Tuesday June 14th with Olga in London
Friends, we join Olga Slater in London for morning prayer. Today, Olga reads the passage of the gospel in which Jesus offers an extremely – maybe impossible(!) – challenge to his disciples and also to us in these times: that we must “love our enemies” and be “perfect” like God…
Many such people do succeed in putting this practise into their everyday lives. We need something extra in our lives to love when it is hard to do so – the Holy Spirit, which renews everything and makes the impossible possible. Love, peace and patience are some of the fruits of the Holy Spirit, helping us on our way to being “perfect” and live up to those ideals that we would not be able to live up to on our own. Let us pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on ourselves and one another!
