Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family: Tuesday June 20th With Pádraig Corcoran
Good morning friends – please join Pádraig Corcoran in Dublin for morning prayer.
‘You have learnt how it was said: You must love your neighbour and hate your enemy. But I say this to you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you; in this way you will be sons of your Father in heaven… ‘You must therefore be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect.’ – Matthew 5:43-48
Now there’s a challenge and a half – be perfect as your father in heaven is perfect! Very difficult. But look, Jesus was realistic, too, and he knew we weren’t reaching perfection. But that didn’t stop him talking about perfection and saying that’s what we should be striving for. Thank you for joining us to pray and reflect together.
