Morning Prayer with the Oblates: Friday July 8th With Kirk Jacob
Dear friends, good morning and thank you for joining us for morning prayer. Kirk Jacob, who is member of the Oblate Partners in Mission Team, and is based in West Kilburn, London, leads us in our prayer again this morning.
“Do not worry about how to speak or what to say; what you are to say will be given to you when the time comes; because it is not you who will be speaking; the Spirit of your Father will be speaking in you..” – Gospel of Matthew
Today’s gospel has a lot of powerful, emotional overtones. Jesus certainly doesn’t hold back on what the Kingdom of God thinking is meant to look like here on earth. He is asking his twelve companions, and us, to follow in his footsteps. We know what happened in their stories, what about us? Kirk shares with us a poignant, personal family story which for him, is reflective of today’s gospel message.
Thank you for praying with us today.
