Morning Prayer with the Oblates: Saturday July 9th With Fr Liam Griffin OMI
Dear friends, today, Saturday July 9th, marks the annual Oblate Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine, County Mayo in Ireland. Fr Liam Griffin OMI of the Oblate Provincial Administration, will be presiding over the pilgrimage mass at 3pm and he leads us in our prayer this morning.
Perhaps we can join them in spirit today and reflect on the message of the Apparition to our world today.
In 1879 At the time of the Apparition the people were confronted with problems of poverty, confusion and lack of hope. Very similar to the world of today. Today we endeavour to cope with the challenges which may differ from, but have many similarities with the issues which confronted our ancestors. There is nevertheless a genuine spiritual hunger in our world. At the heart of our Christian faith is the conviction that the human spirit is not satisfied with anything short of God.
Our Lady of Knock, pray for us!
Thank you for joining us this morning.
