Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Friday After Ash Wednesday March 4th With Ros Appleby
“Happy Fasting” – Today’s reflection and prayer with the Oblate Family
We are encouraged to fast during Lent. How does fasting make any difference, many us of might wonder? You might have asked yourself this, as you try to decide what to do or what not to do during Lent.
“Is not this the sort of fast that pleases me
– it is the Lord who speaks –
to let the oppressed go free,
and break every yoke,
to share your bread with the hungry,
and shelter the homeless poor.” – Isaiah Isaiah 58:1-9
Today join Ros Appleby in England as she reflects on fasting during this season of Lent, and also gives some thoughts that might help you with fasting or feasting this Lent. Happy fasting!
Thank you for joining us today and we will return to the regular time of 8.30am tomorrow morning.
