Good morning friends. We invite you to join Mary Ryan for morning prayer in Sacred Heart Church, Quex Road.
In today’s gospel reading, Jesus was teaching that he’d come to bring a new law of love. The Pharisees were rather rigid rule followers. By using the metaphor of a wedding, Jesus was emphasizing he was the bringer of joy. At Jewish weddings, joy was considered much more important than following religious rituals. Jesus was the Messiah, the bridegroom to the people of God. He stressed the newness of his teaching, a radical change to traditional Jewish teaching. He was the new wine and didnt fit entirely with the old wine skins of the law…
Thank you for watching and praying with us today.
