Morning Prayer
The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Monday 6th November 2023 With Pauline Thomas
Good morning and welcome to Morning Prayer, which is coming to you from Anglesey. We invite you to join Pauline Thomas this Monday, November 6th, of the 31st week in Ordinary time.
Jesus said, “No; when you have a party, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; that they cannot pay you back means that you are fortunate, because repayment will be made to you when the virtuous rise again..” – Luke 14:12-14
Today, in our reading, Jesus teaches about doing things for others without expecting anything in return. Pauline reflects: “Have you heard the saying there’s no such thing as a free meal? There’s always a cost. Free gifts don’t exist. The phrase there is no such thing as a free lunch means that nothing in life comes for free. It is used as a commonsense reminder that any financial offer or opportunity that seems too good to be true will always have a hidden catch.”
Thank you for joining us this morning.
