Morning Prayer
The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Sunday 5th November 2023 With Fr Lorcan
Good morning and welcome to Morning Prayer, which is coming to you from Wistaston Hall Retreat Centre, Crewe. We invite you to join Fr Lorcan O’Reilly this Sunday, November 5th, the 31st Sunday in Ordinary time.
Jesus said, “The greatest among you must be your servant. Anyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and anyone who humbles himself will be exalted.” – Matthew 23:1-12
Today, in our reading, we will hear about the challenges people have to be authentic and of and have to be accepting of others as they are. Jesus also invites us in today’s gospel to refrain from placing burdens on people. And in this context, it is worth remembering the old saying that sometimes the need for the perfect can be the enemy of the good.
Thank you for joining us this morning.
