The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Tuesday 20th February 2024 With Mary Tyrrell
Good morning. We invite you to join our Oblate Family Morning Prayer during this time of Lent. We join Mary Tyrrell, bringing us our morning prayer from her home in Liverpool, England, on Tuesday 20th of February during the 1st week of Lent.
Mary reflects on today’s Gospel which focuses on how we should pray:
“In the Our Father, we only use plural pronouns; there is no “I”. So, as well as praying for ourselves and our own intentions, we are praying with and for all the people in the world, a worldwide community. And this is what we pray for: we pray to keep God’s name holy, we pray that we will live in the way God wants us to live. We pray for an end to hunger in the world. We pray that God will forgive us when we fail.
We are all different and there are hundreds and hundreds of books on the internet, all introducing us to different ways to pray. But the very important thing is that what really matters is that we pray.
Thank you for joining us today.
