The Oblate Family Morning Prayer: Thursday 16th January 2025 With Pauline Thomas
Good morning. Welcome to our Oblate Family Morning Prayer on Thursday, January 16th 2025 of the first week of ordinary time. Today we join Pauline Thomas on the Island of Anglesey once again to lead us in our time of prayer this morning.
‘The leprosy left him, and he was made clean.’ |
---|
Pauline reflects: ‘The leper dares Jesus to declare him clean, and Jesus responds to the challenge in defiance of the elaborate and costly procedures prescribed in biblical law. Some ancient manuscripts interpret the words moved with pity as anger. That Jesus is angry at the institutionalized procedures and costly offerings prescribed in the temple necessary for the leper to be declared free of the stigma. ‘
Thank you for joining us this morning.
