“Essential Christmas requirement” – The Social Oblate Second Sunday of Advent
10th December 2023 2nd Sunday of Advent A(I)
“Essential Christmas requirement”
When we come back to the beginning, looking at the example of John’s ministry, we cannot escape this main challenge he puts in front of us – our first and main Christmas preparation requires one – and one only – to truly trust in the Lord and ask his mercy where sin, rejection and selfishness lead us astray. With that sorted, everything will fit just great under our Christmas Trees! Coming out from the Gospel passage for the 2nd Sunday of Advent, fr Dominik explains how the Prologue of Mark’s Gospel can help us make our Christmas preparation a most fruitful one. In the example of John the Baptist, we find a perfect way of getting ready for Christ’s coming.
