Morning Prayer with the Oblates: Saturday July 17th With Patsy Thomas in Beaumaris
Very often in the gospels the writers tell us that Jesus’ actions are fulfilling prophecies from earlier pieces of the scriptures. In today’s gospel, we see that Jesus always has followers – and he always cures and cares for them – and that Isaiah’s prophecies are being fulfilled.
Perhaps like Patsy, you too have experienced during the pandemic that you have been blessed more time to time to listen to talks, to read, to share thoughts with others.
So, perhaps have prophets in our own time , perhaps we are being asked to bring new life into our own personal faith and into our own churches.
“Many followed him and he cured them all, but warned them not to make him known. This was to fulfil the prophecy of Isaiah:
Here is my servant whom I have chosen.” Matthew 12:14-21
