Morning Prayer, Sunday July 11 with Mary O’Brien (Dublin) Morning Prayer with Mary O’Brien
Join Mary O’Brien from Dublin on this, Sunday, July 11 as she leads us in our Morning Prayer.
Mary reads from the Gospel of the day, Mark 6:7-13. In the Gospel, Jesus instructs the Apostles as he sends them out two by two. They are to take nothing with them except their sandals. Where they find a welcome; stay. Otherwise, brush the dust of their sandals and move on. Mary points to our need not be be encumbered by our baggage, whatever it may be. Take what comes, be faithful, and where we are not welcomed, as Jesus says, move on. However, let’s us not stop being what God wants us to be – his messenger!
